Color Brillante: My Creative Journey in El Salvador
Once upon a time, many years ago, I found pure joy in writing, reading, and allowing my imagination to roam free through the creation of art. Somewhere along the way, life got busy, and those passions took a backseat. However, with the exciting realization that we are moving to El Salvador, I felt a powerful urge to bring a piece of myself into the family house.
During our visit to El Salvador last September, I was captivated by the vibrant street art and breathtaking murals that adorned the walls of the city. Each piece of art told a story, bursting with life and colour, and resonated with my own longing to express myself creatively. The beauty and spirit of the artistry around me ignited a spark within, inspiring me to pick up my paintbrush once more.
So I painted, and I painted, and I painted! Each stroke was a journey, an exploration of my emotions and experiences, and a way to infuse the walls of the family home with my essence. I poured my heart into every piece, honouring the culture around me while allowing my creativity to flourish.
As I transformed blank canvases into vibrant expressions of joy and connection, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. My art became a way to weave together my past and present, bringing with it a sense of belonging in this beautiful new land.
Through my artwork, I hope to create a warm and inviting atmosphere within our new home—a place where love and creativity can thrive. I can’t wait for my family to walk into the house and see these colourful expressions of hope and inspiration, markers of this exciting new chapter in our lives.
I’m thrilled to embrace this artistic journey and share it with you as we continue to explore and create in El Salvador. Here’s to new beginnings, fresh colours, and the imaginative spirit within us all!
Creativity is so healing isn't it?! It's vital to my wellbeing and I don't think I could live without it! I'm so impressed with your painting...I'm an art store junky, is there one near by you got your supplies from? I love hearing about other countries arts and craft stores!
